![]() If they retreat with a few men then you get nothing and have to sally and try to run them down and then you only get a few prisoners and very little loot. Change the number to anything higher than 1 to increase the number of troops. I did that because I wanted to do a lot of castle defenses to train up my companions but I wanted to make sure that I destroyed the great hosts that were sent against me so I could take prisoners and loot. Just go to My Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\ and edit the rglconfig.txt (or wherever your documents folder is) There you'll find the following line: battlesize 1.0000. I play with a 300 battlesize and I also increase the reinforcements to 100 (playing ACOK). ![]() Otherwise you'll really have to grind your way up to a high renown. The way around this is to increase the renown maximum (with TweakMB) and the actual renown you get from each battle (as a percentage). So then, if you are greatly outnumbered and are going to get 50 renown you might get that amount for 2 or 3 battles, but you'll only get it once for the big battle with the higher battle size. But with a large battlesize you may only fight one big battle because the reinforcements will include all the troops both sides have. With a smaller battlesize you'll go through all the allowed reinforcements and then have to fight a new battle against the remaining forces. ![]() I think you'll take a renown penalty for large battles in that you will fight fewer battles since all the troops are coming together in one battle.
